Nacho Libre Storyline

Ignacio is a monk who aspires to be a professional wrestler (luchador = fighter in Spanish). This is against the other priests. He wrestles under the name "Nacho" for the children to help pay for their needs in hiding. The movie is what happens when he does this.

Nacho Libre goofs

• FAKE: During the fight sequence between Ramses and Nacho towards the end of the movie, Nacho is knocked down and Ramses pulls him back up by his hair. Ramses then punches him once or twice, and then goes to knee him in the face. When he does this, you can see that Ramses knee never makes contact with Nacho's. It is actually several inches away.
• FAKE: When Nacho goes to the sisters house she says it's late. However, when they are eating toast you can see sunlight outside and can tell it's around the afternoon.
• CHAR: Under lucha libre rules, once a luchador is on the ropes, his opponent must release any holds. In Nacho's first match, he does not let go of his opponent's legs after he grabs the ropes.
• CHAR: Nacho makes the Sign of the Cross a couple of times during the movie. However, when he does it just before he "baptizes" Esqueleto, he uses his left hand, when he should have used his right hand.
• PLOT: SPOILER: The showdown between Nacho and Ramses is an exhibition, meaning that neither was paid for the fight. So how was Nacho able to afford the bus?
