Ghost Ship Storyline

After discovering a passenger ship missing since 1962 floating adrift on the Bering Sea, salvagers claim the vessel as their own. Once they begin towing the ghost ship towards harbor, a series of bizarre ocurrences happen and the group becomes trapped inside the ship, which they soon learn is inhabited by a demonic creature.

Ghost Ship goofs

FACT: Murphy says the boat was moving at a certain number of "knots an hour". "Knots" means "nautical miles per hour" - no experienced seaman would make that mistake.
CONT: When Jack brings his photos of the liner adrift, the levels of beer in the bottles on the table go up and down.
CONT: When Francesca drops her dress to entice Greer, she puts her hand on the elevator shaft with her arm bent. But her arm is straight when Greer falls through her.
CONT: Though Francesca (the lounge singer) speaks perfect Italian during the rest of the movie, the song she performs during the title sequence ("Senza Fine") is sung in heavily-accented Italian (clearly Italian actress 'Francesca Rettondini' (qv) is lip-synching a non-Italian performer).
FACT: Near the end of the film, Epps tells Dodge to take the helm to steer the drifting ship away from the rocks. The rudder of a drifting vessel has absolutely no effect on the direction of travel; a vessel must be "making way" through the water for its rudder to work. The vessel also has no power, and the engine room is flooded. The steering gear room would be underwater. So the helm controls would be dead.
